Winter Skin – Flawless Foundations

Hey guys, hope you all had a good weekend; I certainly did. Quick apologies for the 3 days of silence – I have been SUPER busy with work and £££ overtime £££…

Anyway, I’m back and with a new review for you all! As you all know, summer is officially over and most of you are saying goodbye to that gorgeous and glowing dewy bronzed skin. We are now and scarily in AW17 and yes the weather has changed BUT, so has our skin. As the weather gets colder, our skin gets tougher. The cold and dry winter air evaporates the moisture from our skin causing it to dry out and makes our foundation application look flaky and uneven.

Just like Goldilocks and those bowls of porridge, it took me a while but I have finally found my perfect winter foundations which keep my skin hydrated, smooth and beautifully flawless. Take a look….

These three foundations are my absolute ‘go to’s‘ for all winter occasions. Starting with..

NARS (ShadeLight 2, Mont Blanc)

Okay so this foundation is described as an “All day luminous and weightless foundation”; and that’s exactly what it is. This foundation is perfect for your everyday use – work, school, shopping.. everything.  It offers up to 16 hours of wear and it gives you a full and natural looking coverage. I personally love this foundation because it’s highly pigmented but well-balanced – basically you don’t need to pile it on because with a little amount, you achieve an even coverage. NARS sell this foundation in 20 different shades and retails roughly at around £35.00 for 30ml. If you have oily skin, this product is perfect for you because it is an oil-free liquid formula. Added bonus – this foundation smells AMAZING!

For those days where you feel less is more..

MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation (Shade – NC15)

If you love a more natural look, this foundation has customisable pigments which refines the look of your skin. It amazingly adapts to your skin tone so you are left with a flawless, natural looking, demi-matte finish. The foundation will customise itself to you and will leave you with a medium but easily buildable soft coverage. I love this foundation because it’s again, oil-free and it blends evenly onto your skin, minimising your pores and ridding those imperfections.

The SPF foundation tint comes in 12 shades and protects your skin, even whilst absorbing excess oil and reducing unwanted shine. MAC Cosmetics say the foundation is…

“Oil free and water, sweat and humidity-resistant, the foundation offers eight hour wear and won’t cake, streak or settle. Expect a flawless, undetectable makeup finish that never looks ashy or chalky.”

I agree!

Last up on my list and my favourite foundation at the moment..

Jay Manuel Beauty – Filter Finish Collection (Shade – Light Filter 3)

My skin is so dry and my complexion is so blemished that this foundation, for me is EVERYTHING! The aim of this foundation is to give you that beautiful and soft filter finish look by priming, hydrating and evening your skin tone. The texture of the foundation is silky and glides straight onto your skin. The coverage of this foundation is a little thicker than the first two foundations so it’s perfect for nights out and killer selfies. I also love that it’s so lightweight, it doesn’t feel heavy on your face and skin whatsoever – it’s pretty much a win-win.

For me, image and packaging is very important. The packaging of Jay Manuels foundation is a big thumbs up from me, it’s unique and comes in a sleek, skin like texture squeeze tube; it’s nothing like any other foundation I have purchased. Like MAC, this foundation comes in 12 shades and is suitable for all skin types.

So now I’m brought to the end of my review, I hope it’s helped in your choosing of the best Winter foundation for your skin. Like always – these three foundations, prices and purchase links will be over at my products page!

All my love, Levi-Maria
