Hi guys! I am so so SO excited to be reviewing my new HUDA BEAUTY purchases this week. For anyone who doesn’t know Huda Kattan and her gorgeous beauty line – you need to check it out! Huda Beauty will cater to your every need, lipsticks, lipstains, eyelashes, eyeshadows and more.. It’s amazing.
So this week I purchased 5 of the Huda Beauty – Liquid Matte lipstains…
But, before I share my thoughts and opinions with you on these treats, let me tell you a few things about the products themselves..
The Liquid Matte lipstick is a long wear lipstain which dries ‘matte’ onto your lips giving you intense colour and a beautiful, smudge free pout. There are 22 shades to choose from and for you overlined lip lovers, you can buy the lip contour liners to match.
Huda recently has also released a ‘metallic’ liquid lipstick but this only comes in two shades; Showgirl and Socialite. So..
How to use?
- Prep your lips: To improve consistency of application, gently exfoliate with a lip scrub. Blot off any excess oils.
- Line Up: For maximum impact, line your lips using the Huda Lip Contour Matte Pencil and fade towards the center.
- Application: Apply a thin layer of Liquid Matte in the matching or lighter shade to the contour liner to fill in the rest of your lips.
- Wait it out: Allow approximately 30 seconds for the colour to set and intensify to an opaque finish.
When I first tried these lipsticks, I was blown away. First of all, they are SO lightweight. I can barely feel the shades on my lips. I find with a lot of liquid lipsticks (as talked about in my ‘Friend or Foe?‘ post), that they start to stick and clump. Nothing upsets me more than when my lips look good but I’m scared to eat or drink in the fear that it will come off or smudge.
The packaging of this product is so luxe, I absolutely love it. It’s current and eye-catching; it really sells to me. The colours of the lipsticks are so pigmented and they are cheaper than most of the liquid lipsticks around at the moment, they retail at about £18 piece with 1.7 fl oz of product in each tube.
There is also a slight vanilla scent to these lipsticks and when applying, there is no weird, alcohol, chemical taste left lingering on your lips. Also, do not be alarmed at the light shade when applying, it turns into a darker matte shade once dried. On the two occasions I have worn my lipsticks, they have lasted roughly around 5 hours before I have had to reapply – this is a win for me.
Overall, I am VERY pleased with my purchases and I’m extremely excited to try and buy new shades! If you’re thinking of treating yourself to a gorge new Huda Matte Lipstick; head over to the products page where I will attach pics and links (UK retailer) for you to browse and shop!
