Hi guys! As you all know, I am a HUGE Clinique fan! From their toners to their highlighters and their gel creams to their lip colours, I am obsessed. So, just before Christmas I got the Clinique – Take the day off makeup remover and the Clinique – Moisture surge. Since using these products, what was once my religious night-time routine has now been changed, for the better.
Do you, like me, scrub and rub at your eyes with makeup wipes? Ripping out your lashes or rubbing lipstick to the point of stained skin? Well STOP. This beauty is your new life saver!
This gentle makeup remover rids you of long wearing eye and lip makeup without tugging and pulling on your skin. What I love about this product is that it leaves nothing behind. I don’t have to go through 4/5 cotton pads and endless amounts of remover to clear my face. The remover itself is so kind to your skin, it doesn’t irritate, it doesn’t sting and it doesn’t smell like some of the Clinique toners you can get; it’s pretty much odourless.
How to use?
-Shake well before using.
-Saturate cotton ball/pad with remover.
-Cleanse one eye area at a time.
-Apply to eye area and hold for several seconds, then wipe with downward strokes.
-Repeat using fresh cotton ball if necessary.
-Use a new saturated cotton ball or tissue for lipstick removal.
-Rinse with cool water.
The remover retails at around £22.00 from Boots for 200ml but you can purchase it from Allbeauty for £13.60 for 125ml. I will put the links to browse over on my products page for you!
The second product I want to tell you about is the Clinique – Moisture surge. This product is newly extended so it now offers your skin up to 24 hours of moisture.
The moisturiser is of a very lightweight gel consistency and is stored in a glass jar with silver screw cap. Perhaps because I have been using skin care products containing more natural botanical ingredients lately, I couldn’t help but notice the chemical smell of the moisturiser. The smell doesn’t linger however and it’s not noticeable once applied.
You only need a small, pea sized amount of this gel; you don’t need to overdo it. When I applied this to my skin, it literally drank it. I was left with hardly any residue or grease which I find is common with thick gels and creams.
How to use?
-Use daily for immediate moisture.
-For a midday boost, tap on over makeup.
-Or use as a 5-minute mask: massage onto clean skin and blot off excess with a tissue.
This product retails at £35.00 for 50ml but again from Allbeauty, you can purchase it for £13.00 for 30ml.
For me, these products had to be added to my daily/night-time routines. As you know from my previous posts, my night time ritual is the face wash using the Clinique sonic brush, the toner and oil reduction gel. Now, I can add my make up remover to that routine and say goodbye to my makeup wipes.
As for my day routine, the moisture surge is the skin boost I need before I apply my makeup! It plumps my skin, decreases fine line visibility and makes my skin look and feel soft and smooth; it gives me the perfect canvas for my makeup application.
Regarding price, if you buy directly from Boots or Clinique, it can be quite expensive but you can buy the products from Allbeauty for a lot less!
I will put the products and links on my products page for you to check out! Thanks for reading guys!
